Your vinyl frame comes with its glazing, an MDF backing board, the mount, a template board printed with the outline of your record and sleeve, a split pin, and D-rings and cord. This guide shows how to mount your record and sleeve and fit them into the frame.
Not for gatefold sleeves: this layout takes a single record and a standard sleeve.
Important: always check your new frame for damage before you take it apart. We can only accept claims for obvious damage that's reported before the frame is used.

Opening the frame
- Lay the frame face down on a clean, soft surface.
- Gently lift the flexible black tabs out of the way. You don't need to take them out.
- Lift out the MDF backing board and the mounts. Leave the glazing in the frame for now.
The record and the split pin
- Lay the template board face up. It's printed with the outline of the sleeve and the record.
- Take the split pin out of its small clear bag.
- Lay your record on its circle on the template, lined up with the outline.
- Push the split pin through the record's centre hole and through the board, then open its two legs out flat behind the board. This holds the record in place.
The sleeve and the mount
- Slide the sleeve into position on its outline, over the edge of the record.
- Turn the mount face down and peel the liners off the double-sided tape on its back.
- Turn the mount over, line its window up over the record and sleeve, and carefully lower it into place.
- Apply gentle pressure all round the mount to stick it down. The sleeve is now held in place.
Fitting it into the frame
- Take the glazing out and peel the protective film off both sides of the acrylic. Make sure it's clean.
- Put the glazing back in the frame, then lay your mounted record on it face down.
- Lay the MDF backing board on top.
- Check everything sits flat, then push the flexible tabs back down.
Taping up the back
We recommend taping up the back of the frame with 25mm or 38mm brown kraft tape, which is available to order on our website. Run it neatly along every edge where the backing board meets the frame. It keeps dust and insects out and gives the back a tidy, professional finish.
Hanging
With the back taped up, fit the hanging fixtures. Your frame comes with D-rings and cord. Fit a D-ring a third of the way down each side, and tie the cord securely between them.
